Movement Software welcomes M&A Project Manager

Oscar Thornander joins as M&A Project Manager.
Tell us about yourself?
"I was born and raised in Gothenburg and have always lived here, with the exception of an exchange period in Milan. Right now I live in an apartment in central Gothenburg with my partner. I prefer to spend my free time reading, running, or socializing with friends."
What have you done previously?
"I studied Industrial Engineering and Management at Chalmers, alongside a number of different economics courses at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. I've always been interested in business and running companies — during my studies I ran my own consulting firm, and after graduating I worked within the Axel Johnson Group, in both cases focusing on acquisitions and business development. What I appreciate about working with acquisitions is getting to dive into new industries and companies, and getting to know the entrepreneur behind the successful business. M&A is very much about building relationships and understanding how companies work, and it feels very exciting to continue focusing on this within Movement Software."
What attracted you to Movement Software?
"It felt like a dynamic environment with several exciting software companies in interesting niches. During all the meetings leading up to my decision to start working at Movement Software, I felt there was a clear willingness and forward momentum here. I was also attracted by getting to contribute to the ambitious growth journey that has now begun together with our new owner Axcel."
What does your role involve?
"My role involves driving the acquisition process, from the first meeting with the founders of a company until it has become part of Movement Software. This means, for example, identifying and contacting interesting companies, project managing due diligence, and integrating the company into Movement Software. The goal of acquiring companies is for us to grow by strengthening our joint offering and core business."
